According to DOH, 70 percent of the 861 cases of Influenza A(H1N1) reported is in Metro Manila. Last week, DOH placed Metro Manila under “Low-level” community outbreak. Many students and faculty were already infected by the disease.
There will be a declaration of a community outbreak if five percent of the population in Metro Manil is infected and if there is a third-level transmision (a person gets the illness from someone who was infected by the first case in a certain area).
Last Friday, DOH confirmes 134 new cases of Influenza A(H1N1) flu virus, a total of 861 reported cases of influenza A(H1N1).
Will there be a community outbreak in Metro Manila? DOH is studying it. For now, just stay healthy.
